Aviator bet sites: where to play Aviator in South Africa

Licensed South African bookmakers whose published game lobbies include Aviator or crash games, with the legal caveats in plain words.

An Aviator bet is placed on a crash game: you stake before the round, a multiplier climbs while a plane takes off, and you cash out before the plane flies away or lose the stake. In South Africa the only sites worth considering are bookmakers licensed by a provincial gambling board, and the list below covers those whose own pages name Aviator or a crash game. You must be 18 or older to bet.

One thing first: casino-style games at bookmakers, Aviator included, sit in a legal grey zone. The Supreme Court of Appeal barred Gauteng bookmakers from bets on casino games in October 2025, the National Gambling Board reads that ruling as national, and the Western Cape board says it does not affect its licensees. What you can play depends on the province that licensed the bookmaker, and that may change.

Every brand here is on our list of licensed operators and names Aviator, crash games or both in its published game lobby or terms. The order follows the overall scorecard from our rating method, not the Aviator lobby alone.

A few notes on what the operators themselves publish:

  • Betshezi invites players to bet on the PSL or play Spina Shezi slots and Aviator from a phone or laptop, under a Western Cape licence. See the Betshezi review.
  • Scorebet, licensed in KwaZulu-Natal, lists crash games with Aviator by name next to slots and live games.
  • Sportingbet names Aviator among its games next to slots, live casino and BetGames.
  • Gbets includes Spribe among its game providers and lists crash games and BetGames TV.
  • Topbet shows Aviator alongside its own Skyward crash titles on the home page.
  • Bettabets lists Aviator and SkyPilot under crash games.
  • Supabets describes its lobby as slots, Aviator, table games and a Play Vegas suite, under a Mpumalanga licence.

Betway and Hollywoodbets have their own Aviator pages on this site: Aviator on Betway and Aviator on Hollywoodbets.

How an Aviator bet game works

Each round is short. Before take-off you choose a stake, and many versions let you place two bets at once. When the round starts, a multiplier rises from 1x. You press cash out at any point and your stake is paid at the multiplier shown at that moment. If the plane leaves before you cash out, the stake is lost. Most lobbies also offer an auto cash-out setting, where you choose the multiplier in advance.

The point where the plane leaves is random. Watching previous rounds tells you nothing about the next one, and no pattern, app or signal can tell you when to cash out. Treat every round as a separate bet with a fixed chance of losing.

Two bets, two cash-outs

The double-bet panel is the feature most players use. A common pattern is a small early cash-out on one bet and a later target on the other. It changes how often you see a return, not the long-run maths of the game.

Can you play Aviator online for free?

Some bookmakers show a demo or practice mode in the game window, which uses play credits rather than rand. Whether a demo is available depends on the bookmaker's lobby and can change; it is not offered on this site. A demo is useful to learn the buttons and the auto cash-out. It does not predict real rounds and it is not a way to win.

For the real-money game you need a funded account at a licensed bookmaker. That means registering, passing FICA checks with your ID and proof of address, and depositing through one of the payment methods the bookmaker lists.

Choosing a site for Aviator online betting

Look at these points before you open an account anywhere:

  1. Licence notice. The footer should name the provincial board and a licence number. You can compare it with the National Gambling Board register. Our guide to licensed betting sites explains how.
  2. Province. Casino-style games are offered under Western Cape and some other provincial licences; the national regulator disputes this, and Gauteng is covered by the 2025 court ruling.
  3. Minimum stake and deposit. These are set in each cashier and lobby. Scorebet, for example, lists a minimum deposit of R50.
  4. Payments. Vouchers, instant EFT and cards differ between brands.
  5. Bonus rules. Many welcome offers exclude crash games or count them differently towards turnover. Read the terms before you accept a bonus.
  6. Limits and time-outs. A good bookmaker lets you set deposit limits and take a break from the account settings.

Aviator bet app download

Aviator runs in the bookmaker's own website or app, not as a standalone download. If a bookmaker offers an Android APK, download it only from that bookmaker's official site, never from a link in a social media group or chat. Several sites listed above publish app details in their reviews, and our page on betting apps covers the general steps.

What we leave out and why

Search results for Aviator are full of brands that hold no South African licence, including international sites that advertise the game heavily. They are not listed here. Offshore gambling sites are illegal under the National Gambling Act, money held with them is not protected by a provincial board, and advertising them is unlawful. If a brand's footer does not name a South African provincial board, treat it as unlicensed.

Aviator is fast, and rounds follow each other within seconds, which makes it easy to lose track of time and money. Decide your budget before the first round and stop when it is gone. If betting stops being fun, see our responsible gambling page or call the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008.

Questions and answers

Is Aviator legal in South Africa?

Aviator is offered by some provincially licensed bookmakers, mainly under Western Cape and Mpumalanga licences. The National Gambling Board and national government dispute whether bookmakers may offer casino-style games, and Gauteng bookmakers are barred by a 2025 Supreme Court of Appeal ruling. The status is contested.

Which betting sites have the Aviator game?

Among licensed SA bookmakers, Betshezi, Scorebet, Sportingbet, World Sports Betting, Gbets, Betfred, Topbet, Bettabets, Vegas Bets, Supabets and Interbet name Aviator or crash games in their published lobbies. Lobbies change, so check the bookmaker's site.

Can I play Aviator for real money without a deposit?

No. Real-money rounds need a funded, FICA-verified account. Some bookmakers show a demo mode with play credits, which pays nothing out.

Is there a trick to know when the plane will fly away?

No. The crash point is random in every round. Apps, signals or groups that claim to predict it are not reliable and are often scams.

Do Aviator bets count towards a welcome bonus?

It depends on the bonus rules. Many offers are for sports bets or named slots only. Read the terms on the bookmaker's promotions page before you play.
