World Sports Betting, usually shortened to WSB, is a licensed South African bookmaker: its footer cites licence 10181495-013 from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board and licence 9-2-1-09865 from the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator, and the National Gambling Board register lists SWB Solutions (Pty) Ltd t/a World Sports Betting Western Cape under the Western Cape number. In this World Sports Betting review we look at what its published pages say about sport, horse racing, payments and player protection, and where the terms leave gaps.
World Sports Betting review: who runs it and how it is licensed
The brand's copyright line runs from 2002 to 2026, which makes WSB one of the longer-standing names in South African online betting. Two licences sit behind it:
| Regulator | Licence number | Where it is shown |
|---|---|---|
| Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board | 10181495-013 | WSB footer and National Gambling Board register |
| Mpumalanga Economic Regulator | 9-2-1-09865 | WSB footer |
The register names the licence holder as SWB Solutions (Pty) Ltd, trading as World Sports Betting Western Cape. If you ever need to escalate a dispute, those are the details to quote. You can confirm the match yourself by comparing the footer with the National Gambling Board's Verified Operators list, which is a good habit with any site that uses the World Sports Betting name.
Sports betting at WSB, online and on mobile
WSB invites customers to bet on soccer, cricket, rugby and more on desktop or mobile, with live in-play betting and odds boosters. The exact list of competitions, from the Betway Premiership to the big European leagues, depends on the calendar, so check the sportsbook for the events you follow.
WSB mobile betting runs through the mobile site, and some players still look for the "full site" or old desktop version; the two show the same account, so a bet placed on one appears on the other. Whether a separate app is offered is set out on WSB's own site, and our guide to betting apps explains what to check before installing any betting app.
Searches for WSB book a bet refer to saving a set of selections as a code to load later or share. Our bet slip guide explains how booking codes work in general and why paid "sure" slips are a red flag.
Horse racing: WSB's strongest selling point
Racing is where WSB's published pages say the most. It promises live streaming, early pricing and best odds on racing from around the world, and names local centres: Turffontein, Kenilworth, Greyville, Durbanville, Scottsville and the Vaal. That local list matters, because not every licensed bookmaker covers South African meetings in depth. If you follow the Hollywoodbets Durban July and the regular Greyville cards, WSB's racing offer is worth comparing.
As always, "best odds" is a promotional term with conditions attached. Check how it is defined in the racing rules, which races qualify, and whether it applies to every bet type.
Lucky numbers at World Sports Betting
WSB lists a Lucky Numbers section. These are fixed-odds bets on the outcome of lottery draws, and the Lotteries Act restricts betting on the outcome of any lottery unless another law authorises it. Whether provincial bookmaker approvals count as that authority is unresolved, so we do not recommend lucky numbers bets. Results and explanations of the draws are on our lucky numbers results pages.
WSB games: slots, live games and Aviator
WSB names Pragmatic, Evolution, Red Tiger, NetEnt, Nolimit City and Habanero as game providers, and lists crash games including Aviator, Paper Plane, Rugby Run and Comet Crash. The legal status of casino-style games at bookmakers is disputed: the Supreme Court of Appeal barred Gauteng bookmakers from betting on casino games in October 2025, the National Gambling Board reads that as national, and the Western Cape board says its licensees are not affected. We describe these games on information pages, such as our Aviator guide, but do not score bookmakers on them.
WSB deposits: Shoprite vouchers, OTT, Flash and Blu
Payments are a genuine strength. WSB names credit card, EFT, instant EFT through Ozow, SID and direct deposits, plus vouchers:
- WSB vouchers, its own brand, sold at Shoprite stores;
- OTT, Flash and Blu vouchers, widely sold in shops and through terminals.
That combination suits players who prefer to deposit cash at a till rather than share card details. 1Voucher is not among the voucher brands WSB names, so check the cashier before buying one. Vouchers are deposit-only: withdrawals go to a bank account in your name after FICA checks. The public terms do not state deposit or withdrawal limits for each method, so look in the cashier for minimums and processing times before you choose a method.
Opening a WSB account
Registration follows the pattern every licensed South African bookmaker uses. You enter your name as it appears on your ID, your South African ID or passport number and your contact details, and choose a password. Because bookmakers are accountable institutions under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, WSB must then verify your identity before you can withdraw. Licensed operators typically ask for an ID document, proof of address no older than three months and proof of your bank account; WSB's own list is in its help pages.
Two practical points save time. First, use a bank account in your own name, because winnings are paid only to the account holder. Second, upload your documents on the day you register rather than after your first win, when a pending check is most frustrating.
Who World Sports Betting suits
- Racing followers who want local meetings with streaming and early prices in one place.
- Cash depositors who would rather buy a voucher at Shoprite or a till point than use a card.
- Long-standing WSB customers who value a brand with a track record and two provincial licences.
It suits less well anyone who wants a clearly published welcome bonus with full wagering rules up front, or detailed published information on limits and self-exclusion before signing up.
World Sports Betting bonus and promotions
The public terms do not set out a standard welcome bonus with its wagering conditions, and promotions change. Our World Sports Betting promo code page explains what to look for in any WSB offer before you opt in.
Support and responsible gambling
WSB lists email support at [email protected] and a toll-free line on 0860 10 33 93. Its footer carries the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation counselling line 0800 006 008 and the WhatsApp HELP line. The public terms mention the helpline but say little about self-exclusion or deposit-limit tools, so ask support or look in your account settings for them. No persons under 18 are permitted to gamble. Our responsible gambling page explains self-exclusion and limits.
