Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information SlotsReviews collects, why, and what rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). The short version: we have no accounts, no registration forms and no newsletter sign-up, so we hold very little about you. It applies from 1 November 2026.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like any website, our web server records technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser type, the page asked for, the referring page and the time. We use it to keep the site secure and working, and to spot abuse.
• Outbound clicks. When you use a link to a bookmaker, the click passes through a redirect on this site that counts clicks per bookmaker. We store the count, not a profile of you.
• Emails you send us. If you write to the editors through the contact page, we keep your email address and message so we can reply and keep a record of corrections.

We do not ask for, and do not want, ID numbers, banking details or betting account details. Please do not send them.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as remembering that you have dismissed a notice. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell or share data for advertising. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Bookmaker sites you reach from here have their own privacy policies and cookies. Once you leave this site, their policy applies, not ours.

Why we process it and on what basis

We process the limited information above for our legitimate interest in running a secure, accurate website, and to answer messages you choose to send. We do not use it for direct marketing and we do not make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

Server logs are kept for a short period for security and then deleted. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is needed to deal with your message and any follow-up correction. Click counts are kept as totals without personal details.

Who we share it with

Our hosting provider stores the site and its logs on our behalf under a duty of confidentiality. We may disclose information if the law requires it. We do not pass your details to bookmakers or affiliate partners; how affiliate links work is set out in our advertising disclosure.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask whether we hold personal information about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct or delete it. You may also object to processing. Write to us through the contact page and we will answer within a reasonable time. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, the authority that enforces POPIA.

Children

This site is for adults. Gambling is only for people aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Security and changes

The site is served over an encrypted connection and access to logs is limited. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep as little data as possible. If we change this policy, the new version will be published on this page with its date. Our terms of use cover the rest of your use of the site.
