Voucher betting sites: 1Voucher, OTT, Blu and the Betway OTT voucher question
Licensed bookmakers whose own payment pages list 1Voucher, OTT or Blu, plus how a shop-bought voucher becomes betting credit.

If you want to fund a betting account with cash from a till point, a voucher is the usual route in South Africa: you buy 1Voucher, OTT or Blu at a shop or in a banking app, then type the PIN into the bookmaker's deposit page. People often search for a Betway OTT voucher, but the payment methods each bookmaker accepts change, so the table below lists only licensed bookmakers whose own payment pages name voucher deposits.
Licensed bookmakers that list voucher deposits
Every operator here holds a provincial bookmaker licence, and its published payment information names at least one retail voucher. The order follows our score, which weighs licence, protection, bonus terms, payments, offer and transparency, as set out on how we rate betting sites.

What each bookmaker says about vouchers
- Betshezi: OTT Voucher, Blu Voucher, 1Voucher, EasyPay and Kazang, next to Capitec Pay, Ozow, PayShap, bank EFT and cards.
- Scorebet: vouchers sold through retailers and networks such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Makro, MTN and Vodacom, next to EFT, card payments, Ozow instant EFT and mobile money.
- Sportingbet: 1Voucher, next to Ozow and Visa.
- World Sports Betting: OTT, Flash and Blu vouchers plus its own WSB voucher sold at Shoprite, next to credit card, EFT, Ozow, SID and direct deposit.
- Gbets: 1Voucher and OTT Voucher, next to EFT and credit card.
Betshezi has the broadest voucher list of the five, and it is the only one that also names Kazang, which matters if your nearest spaza or garage sells Kazang products. World Sports Betting stands out for its own branded voucher, and our World Sports Betting review covers its other payment routes.
How a voucher deposit works
The steps are similar for every voucher brand, though menus differ by bookmaker:
- Buy the voucher. Choose an amount at a supermarket till, a Kazang or Flash terminal, or in your banking app. You get a slip or an SMS with a PIN.
- Open the deposit page. Log in to your betting account and choose the voucher brand you bought. Do not pick a generic option for a different brand; the PIN will be rejected.
- Enter the PIN. Type it exactly, without spaces, and confirm. The value is normally credited straight away.
- Keep the slip. Until the money shows in your balance, the slip is your only proof of purchase if something goes wrong.
A voucher is a deposit method only. To redeem a Betway voucher or any other, the account must already be open, and to take winnings out you will need a verified bank account. That is why FICA verification at Betway and other bookmakers matters even if you only ever deposit with vouchers.
Betway OTT voucher: what to check first
Betway holds a Western Cape bookmaker licence, but which vouchers it accepts today is set out on its own banking page and changes from time to time. Before you buy a Betway OTT voucher, a 1Voucher for Betway or a voucher through Kazang or Capitec, open Betway's deposit page and confirm the brand is listed there. A voucher bought for a method the bookmaker no longer accepts usually has to be redeemed elsewhere or refunded through the voucher company, which takes time.
The same advice applies to Hollywoodbets. Third-party payment guides list 1Voucher, OTT Voucher and airtime-to-voucher among Hollywoodbets deposit options, alongside Ozow instant EFT and branch cash deposits. Treat that as a starting point and confirm on Hollywoodbets' own site before you buy a voucher on Capitec or at a till. Birthday vouchers and similar account rewards are promotions, not payment methods, and their terms sit in the bookmaker's promotions section.
Pros and cons of paying with vouchers
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| No card or bank details typed into the betting site | Cannot be used to withdraw; winnings go to a bank account |
| Cash at a till works for people without online banking | A lost slip or mistyped PIN can be slow to sort out |
| Easy to cap spending by buying only a fixed amount | Some bonuses exclude certain deposit methods, so read the terms |
That last point is worth stressing. Bonus rules sometimes name the payment methods that qualify. Check the current welcome offer on each bookmaker's terms page, or start with our guide to betting bonuses, before assuming a voucher deposit counts.
Voucher scams and how to avoid them
Voucher PINs work like cash, which makes them a target. Never send a PIN to anyone who contacts you on WhatsApp or social media claiming to be a bookmaker, a tipster or a "booking" agent. Licensed bookmakers do not ask for voucher PINs outside their own deposit page. Be wary of anyone selling vouchers "at a discount" online, and only enter a PIN on the bookmaker's real website or official app.
Using vouchers to stay in control
Many players use vouchers as a budget tool: buy a set amount for the week and stop when it is gone. That works best together with a deposit limit set in your account. Betting is for adults only; no persons under 18 may gamble. If you find yourself buying another voucher to win back losses, take a break and read our responsible gambling guide.
Questions and answers
Can I deposit at Betway with an OTT voucher?
Betway's accepted deposit methods are listed on its own banking page and change over time. Check that OTT is shown there before you buy a voucher.
Can I withdraw winnings to a voucher?
No. Vouchers are for deposits only. Withdrawals go to a bank account in your own name once your FICA documents have been verified.
Which voucher do most licensed bookmakers accept?
Among the bookmakers in the table, 1Voucher and OTT Voucher appear most often. Blu appears at Betshezi and World Sports Betting, and Flash at World Sports Betting.
What if my voucher PIN is rejected?
Check that you chose the matching voucher brand and typed the PIN without spaces. If it still fails, contact the bookmaker's support with your slip, and if the voucher was never used, the voucher company's own support.
Are voucher deposits safe?
They avoid sharing card details with the betting site, which many people like. The main risk is fraud: never share a PIN with anyone and only enter it on the bookmaker's official site or app.
