Scorebet registration: sign up, FICA documents and first deposit

Scorebet registration has two parts: the online sign-up form, and FICA verification, for which Scorebet's terms say customers may be asked during registration for copies of their identity document, proof of physical address such as a utility bill, and proof of banking account details. You must be at least 18. Once both are done, you can deposit, bet and withdraw.

Scorebet's terms list identity documents, proof of physical address and proof of banking account details. In practice:

• Identity: a green ID book, Smart ID card (both sides) or passport, valid and readable.
• Address: a utility bill or similar document in your name showing where you live. Licensed bookmakers commonly want it to be recent, often no older than three months.
• Banking: a bank statement or bank letter showing the account in your name. Withdrawals are paid to this account.

FICA applies because licensed bookmakers are accountable institutions under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act. If something is rejected, Scorebet lists support by email, phone and live chat, so ask what was wrong before resending.

Your first deposit after registering

Scorebet's help pages describe card payments, EFT, vouchers and mobile money, and its cashier names Ozow instant EFT and vouchers sold through retailers and networks such as Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Makro, MTN and Vodacom. Withdrawal times differ by method; the help pages give them as follows: EFT: 2-3 business days; OZOW Instant EFT: instant.

The first deposit also matters for the welcome offer. Scorebet's first deposit page says the match bonus and free spins are issued straight after your first successful deposit of at least R50. Which licence covers your account?

Scorebet's footer names Deeps Betting Grounds PTY LTD t/a ScoreBet and says it is licensed and regulated by the Northern Cape Gambling Board. The National Gambling Board register separately lists Scorebet Durban (Pty) Ltd as a bookmaker with licence BOM0120 in KwaZulu-Natal. The public terms do not state how the two companies relate, so if you ever need to raise a dispute, start with Scorebet's support and ask which licence and board apply to your account. Scorebet's responsible gambling page lists daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits, wagering limits, cooling-off or time-out periods and permanent self-exclusion.
