Crazy Time Review: Evolution's Live Game Show Explained

Crazy Time is Evolution's live money-wheel game show with four bonus rounds. How the wheel, Top Slot and bonuses work, and what the RTP figures mean.

Crazy Time is a live game show by Evolution, launched in 2020, in which a presenter spins a large money wheel and you bet on where it will stop: on one of the number spots or on one of four bonus games. Before each spin a Top Slot can add a random multiplier to one spot. Its RTP depends on the spot you bet on, from 94.33% to 96.08%, and the largest possible win is 20,000 times the stake.

In South Africa, Crazy Time appears only in the live games lobbies of bookmakers that carry Evolution. Live casino-style games at bookmakers have a disputed legal status: provincial regulators such as the Western Cape board permit them for their licensees, while the National Gambling Board disputes this. You must be 18 or older to play for money.

The Crazy Time wheel and bet spots

The bet spots are the numbers printed on the wheel and the four bonus games. If the wheel stops on a number you bet on, you are paid at that number's odds. If it stops on a bonus you bet on, you take part in that bonus round, and your winnings come from the bonus result. You can bet on several spots in one round, and each bet is settled on its own.

The number spots return slightly more over the long run than the bonus spots. According to the spec, the numbers 1 to 10 carry an RTP between 95.73% and 96.08%, while the bonus games range from 94.33% to 95.70%. Those differences are small next to the swings of any single session.

Top Slot multipliers

At the start of every round, the Top Slot spins above the wheel. When it lines up a bet spot with a multiplier, that spot pays boosted odds if the wheel lands on it in the same round. The Top Slot is entirely random and applies to the round in progress only.

The four Crazy Time bonus games

BonusHow it works
Coin FlipA coin with a red and a blue multiplier is flipped; the side that lands up pays
Cash HuntEach player picks one of 108 hidden multipliers on a big screen
PachinkoA puck drops down a wall of pegs into a multiplier slot, up to 10,000x
Crazy TimeA separate bonus wheel behind a red door, with multipliers up to 20,000x

The Crazy Time bonus is the rarest spot on the wheel and the one behind the headline maximum win. Rare means rare: many sessions end without it appearing at all.

Crazy Time history and statistics

Several sites publish Crazy Time history today: lists of recent results, bonus frequencies and "time since last bonus". These numbers describe the past. Each spin of the wheel is independent, so a bonus that has not appeared for hours is no more likely on the next spin. Treat history panels as information, not as a guide to what comes next.

Crazy Time strategy and demo play

There is no Crazy Time strategy that removes the house edge; spreading bets over many spots raises the chance of some return in a round but lowers the average return, because bonus spots carry the lower RTP figures. The honest approach is a fixed stake per round and a fixed budget per session. Crazy Time is a live studio game, so a true demo is not common; some bookmakers let you watch the stream without betting, which shows how rounds work at no cost. SlotsReviews does not stream the game.

Where Crazy Time is listed in South Africa

Bookmakers that name Evolution among their providers include World Sports Betting, LottoStar and YesPlay. Searches for Crazy Time on Betway are also common; Betway's live games lobby is set out on its own site. Check that the game appears in the lobby before you deposit, because lobbies change. Other studio formats are on our live games page, and spec cards for slots are in the main slot reviews section.

Live game shows run continuously and are easy to stay with for too long. If that happens, the National Responsible Gambling Programme helpline is free on 0800 006 008, and our responsible gambling page explains time-outs and self-exclusion.
