Sportingbet App for Android and iPhone

Sportingbet states its mobile app works on Android and iOS. Where to get it, what is inside and what to check first.

Sportingbet South Africa offers a mobile app for both Android and iOS devices, according to the games section of its own site. To get it, start from sportingbet.co.za and follow the download or store link the operator provides; that is the only reliable route to a genuine Sportingbet app download.

Sportingbet app download: Android and iPhone

The process differs slightly by phone:

  • iPhone: apps install only through the Apple App Store. Use the link from sportingbet.co.za and confirm the developer matches the bookmaker before you tap Get.
  • Android: follow the Android link on the operator's site. If it leads to a Play Store listing, install from there. If it offers an APK file, download it only from the sportingbet.co.za domain, allow the one-off install your phone asks for, then switch that permission off again.

A Sportingbet APK from a download portal, a forum or a chat group is not from the operator. Fake betting apps can capture passwords and SMS codes, so it is not worth the shortcut.

Sportingbet or World Sports Betting?

Some searches mix up "world sporting bet app" and Sportingbet. They are different bookmakers with different companies and licences. Sportingbet is run by Greatodds (Pty) Ltd, licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. If you are after the other brand, see the World Sports Betting app page.

What the app includes

SectionWhat Sportingbet's site describes
SportsLive betting with over 300 markets per game, bet builder and multi boost
Horse racingListed in the main menu
GamesThe full slots library on mobile, plus live games, BetGames and Aviator; providers include Pragmatic Play and Red Tiger
DepositsInstant methods such as Ozow, 1Voucher and Visa
SupportLive chat and email

On the games side, keep in mind that slot-style games at bookmakers are legally disputed in South Africa, and the position depends on the province that licenses the bookmaker. Our Sportingbet games page explains what is listed.

Deposits and the welcome offer on mobile

Paying in from your phone works with the same methods as on desktop. Ozow suits anyone with online banking, while 1Voucher can be bought for cash at retail stores and loaded with its PIN. The welcome offer is linked to your account, not to the app: Triple Welcome Bonus: up to R3,000 in bonus funds spread across first three deposits. The full rollover terms are not set out next to the offer on the home page, so read them in the promotions section before your first deposit.

Account and FICA on the app

If you already have a Sportingbet account, log in with the same details; your balance, open bets and verification status carry over. New customers can register in the app. Sportingbet links its FICA requirements from the site footer, and a phone camera makes uploading your ID and proof of address straightforward. See Sportingbet registration and FICA for the steps.

Safer betting on your phone

Only adults 18 and over may gamble. Sportingbet's footer lists the counselling line 0800 006 008 and WhatsApp HELP on 076 675 0710. Our responsible gambling page explains limits and self-exclusion.
