Gbets registration is an online sign-up at gbets.co.za for adults aged 18 or over, followed by FICA verification of your identity before you can withdraw. You will need your personal details, an SA ID or passport, a mobile number and access to your email, and later a proof of address and banking details. The exact fields on the form are set by Gbets and may change, but the steps below cover what any licensed bookmaker asks for.

Who you are signing up with

Gbets' footer says it is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board, licence number 10179096-014, and operated by Dymanex (PTY) Ltd, registration number 2012-121-966-07. The National Gambling Board register separately lists Gbets: 2018528059 (Pty) Ltd as a bookmaker licensed in the Free State. Check the footer of the page where you register shows the Western Cape licence notice before you enter any details.

Gbets registration: the sign-up steps

  1. Open the registration form from gbets.co.za, typed into your browser yourself.
  2. Enter personal details exactly as on your ID: full names, date of birth and ID or passport number. A mismatch is the most common reason for FICA delays later.
  3. Add contact details: mobile number and email. Expect a confirmation code or link.
  4. Choose a password that you do not use anywhere else.
  5. Accept the terms after reading them, including the responsible gambling section.
  6. Opt in to the new-customer offer if you want it. Gbets advertises 50 Free Spins and a R50 Free Bet for new customers for new customers; the conditions are on the Gbets promo code page.

Gbets FICA: documents to prepare

As accountable institutions under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, licensed bookmakers must verify who their customers are. Requirements differ by operator, but a typical licensed bookmaker list looks like this:

DocumentWhat is usually accepted
IdentitySA ID, Smart ID card (front and back), passport or valid driver's licence
Proof of addressUtility bill, bank statement or municipal account, usually not older than 3 months
Proof of bank accountBank statement or bank letter in your own name

Gbets' own help pages and live chat are the place to confirm its current list and upload route. Clear photos with all four corners visible, and names that match your account, speed things up.

After you register

Deposits can be made by the methods Gbets lists: EFT, credit card, 1Voucher and OTT Voucher. Once verified, the account gives access to sports betting with live betting, bet builder and cash out, horse racing, lucky numbers and the games lobby. Slot-style and crash games at bookmakers are legally disputed in South Africa, with the position depending on the province. If you plan to bet on your phone, the Gbets app page explains the mobile options, and the full operator overview is in our Gbets review.

Registration is open only to people 18 and older. Gbets lists self-exclusion and time-out options, and supports the National Responsible Gambling Programme; see our responsible gambling page for how these work.
