What to expect when you register at Interbet: details for the sign-up form, FICA verification and how to check the licence first.

To register at Interbet you open the sign-up form on interbet.co.za, enter your personal details with a South African ID or passport number, and then verify your identity under FICA before you can withdraw. Interbet is run by Interbet International (Pty) Ltd and licensed by the Western Cape gambling board under bookmaker licence 10083472-023, and the same entry appears on the National Gambling Board's Verified Operators list. You must be 18 or older to register.

The exact fields and screens of the Interbet registration form are set by the operator and can change, so this page covers what applies to every licensed South African bookmaker and points out what to check on Interbet's own site. For the full operator picture see our Interbet review.

Before you register: check the licence notice

Scroll to the Interbet footer before you sign up. It should show the bookmaker licence number 10083472-023, the company name and the National Responsible Gambling Programme line 0800 006 008. The footer states that the current licence runs to 30 November 2026. Provincial licences are renewed periodically, so after that date look for an updated expiry in the footer or on the Western Cape board's list of licence holders.

Interbet sign up: what the form will ask for

Licensed bookmakers collect the same core details because the law requires them to identify customers and keep minors out. Expect the Interbet register online form to ask for:

  • your full name as it appears on your ID;
  • a South African ID number or a passport number;
  • a mobile number, often confirmed by a one-time PIN sent by SMS;
  • an email address;
  • a password for the account.

Use your real details. An account in a false name cannot pass FICA, and winnings on such an account can be withheld.

Interbet FICA verification

Bookmakers are accountable institutions under the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, so they must verify who you are before paying out. Requirements differ between operators, but a typical FICA request at a licensed bookmaker includes:

DocumentWhat is usually accepted
IdentityGreen ID book, Smart ID card (front and back), passport or driver's licence
Proof of addressUtility bill, bank statement or municipal account, usually not older than 3 months
Proof of bank accountBank statement or letter in your own name, for withdrawals

Interbet sets its own list and upload method, so follow the instructions shown in your account or ask support which documents it accepts. Send clear, uncropped photos or scans; blurred corners are the most common reason for a rejected upload.

Getting help with Interbet registration

Interbet lists phone, fax and email support in its footer, including [email protected] and 021 137 8274. If your documents are rejected or the form will not accept your ID number, contact support rather than opening a second account. Duplicate accounts are normally closed.

After registering

Once verified you can deposit and bet on sport, including live sport, and the site's games section, which includes Aviator. Note that the legal status of slot-style and crash games at bookmakers is disputed nationally. Set a deposit limit early, and remember that help is available from the National Responsible Gambling Programme on 0800 006 008; see our responsible gambling page.

Open the sign-up form on the Interbet site, enter your details with your ID or passport number, then complete FICA verification when asked.
