Betcoza, trading as Bet.co.za, is a South African sports bookmaker run by Betcoza Online (Pty) Ltd and licensed by two provincial regulators: the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board and the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator. Its strengths, going by its own published pages, are in-play sports betting and responsible gambling tools; its weak spot is how little it publishes about payment methods and bonus conditions. This review sets out what the documents say and where they stop.

Is Betcoza legit? Licence and company details

The Bet.co.za footer names the company as Betcoza Online (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2010/005430/07, and states that it is licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under licence number 10145732-016, issued on 23 October 2024, and by the Mpumalanga Economic Regulator under licence number 9-2-1-09853. The National Gambling Board's register of verified operators, as published on 1 November 2026, lists "Betcoza Online (Pty) Ltd t/a BET.co.za" as a Western Cape bookmaker with licence number 10145732-017.

The last digits differ between the footer and the register, but the company itself appears on the national register as a licensed bookmaker. If you want to check for yourself, compare the footer of the site you are on with the NGB's verified operators list before depositing.

According to its about page, Betcoza started shortly after the 2010 FIFA World Cup, when the founders "decided we wanted to be a part of the action".

Betting at Bet.co.za: sports, in-play and lucky numbers

Bet.co.za is built around sport. The home page runs a live count of in-play events, and the betting menus include bet builder and cash out across a wide range of sports and markets. Its place among licensed betting sites comes mostly from this sports depth and from its licence record.

The about page also refers to customers who are "a fan of Lucky Numbers", so bets on foreign draws are part of the offer. Betting on lottery outcomes is legally contested in South Africa, so this review does not cover those products further.

Searches for Betcoza horse racing, Betcoza Aviator, Betcoza games or a Betcoza casino section come up often. The Bet.co.za pages quoted here do not mention a horse racing book or a games lobby, so check the current menu on the site rather than relying on third-party lists. Remember that online casinos are not licensed in South Africa, and casino-style games at bookmakers are legally disputed.

Betcoza bonus and promo code

The promotions page advertises the welcome offer as: Up to R5000 extra bonus on first deposit; up to 50% extra on multiple bets. Bet.co.za also runs a boost of up to 50% extra on multiple bets. The public terms do not state the wagering requirement or expiry for the first-deposit bonus, and they do not mention a promo code, so read the full offer terms before depositing. Our Bet.co.za promo code page goes through the offer in detail, and the wider bonuses guide explains how rollover usually works.

No free bet or free spins offer appears in the current promotions text.

Betcoza registration and FICA

Opening an account follows the pattern of licensed SA bookmakers: personal details, an SA ID or passport number, a mobile number and a password, then identity verification under FICA. The Bet.co.za FAQ lists the FICA documents and says they are required for a deposit of R4,999 or more. In practice, a copy of your ID or passport and proof of your banking details are the documents to have ready. Only adults may register: Bet.co.za states that no persons under the age of 18 are permitted to gamble.

Betcoza deposits and withdrawals

The Bet.co.za help pages quoted here do not list specific deposit methods, so it is not possible to confirm from them whether 1Voucher, Ozow or other vouchers are accepted. Check the deposit screen after logging in for the current list.

Withdrawals are clearer. The FAQ states that withdrawals "can take up to 24 hours to process, excluding Sundays". That is the processing time on Bet.co.za's side; the bank transfer can take longer to show in your account.

Support, contact details and branches

The FAQ says customer support agents can be reached at specified hours by phone, email or live chat. The Betcoza contact number and support hours are listed on the site's contact pages. Bet.co.za presents itself as an online bookmaker, and its published pages do not list retail branches.

Responsible gambling tools

The responsible gambling page offers self-exclusion and a Time-Out option for a short break, available when logged into your player account, and states that Bet.co.za contributes to the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation. The National Responsible Gambling Programme's toll-free counselling line is 0800 006 008. Our responsible gambling guide explains how operator self-exclusion and the national register work.
